Square Enix has released Patch 7.51 for Final Fantasy Xiv, introducing the long-awaited Cosmic Exploration feature. This update marks a significant expansion of the game's endgame content, focusing on cooperative world-building and resource gathering across multiple new star systems.

The Auxesia Development Initiative is now live, allowing Disciples of the Hand and Land to contribute to a large-scale project. Players must first complete the main scenario quest "Endwalker" and reach level 10 in a gathering or crafting class to begin. The initiative unfolds across several star systems, each with its own quest chain and requirements.

Cosmic Exploration is structured around Stellar Missions, which are requests for specific materials. Players accept these missions via the exotablet, a new interface tool. Completing missions increases overall progress and unlocks more advanced tasks. Missions are scored by three ranks: gold, silver, and bronze. Higher scores yield greater rewards. The system is quest synced, ensuring difficulty and rewards scale appropriately with a player's level.

A key component of the exploration is the cosmopouch, an exclusive inventory for supplies, crafted items, and gathered materials. Disciples of the Hand can use the Cosmic Crafting Log to create items for missions. Disciples of the Land can use Stellar Reduction to aetherially reduce items. Alongside basic missions, provisional and critical missions offer greater rewards.

Travel between unlocked stars is facilitated by the Bestways Burrow aetheryte in Mare Lamentorum. Players can also speak with NPCs like Drivingway or Cruisingway to select a destination. As exploration progresses, the appearance of the base camp changes, new areas unlock, and a variety of rewards become available. New stars will be added regularly throughout the Patch 7.x cycle.

The Eorzea Database has also been updated to reflect Patch 7.51 changes. The Latest Patch Search function now filters results for Patch 7.5 or later. Certain information has been omitted to prevent spoilers. Players can track their progress via the Cosmic Exploration Report page or the Companion App.
