Mobile Expansion for Popular MMO
Digital Extremes has announced the upcoming Android Closed Beta for Warframe, scheduled to begin on November 28. This marks the next phase in the game's mobile expansion following the recent iOS beta release.
Registration and Access Details
Prospective testers can register for the Android Closed Beta through the official Warframe website. Registration does not guarantee immediate access, as invitations will be distributed in waves to manage server capacity and testing requirements. Selected participants will receive instructions via their registered Warframe account email address.
The beta will be administered through Google Play, requiring a Google Account for participation. Similar to the iOS testing phase, invitations will roll out gradually, with additional waves planned if initial testing proceeds smoothly.
Device Compatibility and Requirements
Initial device support includes popular models such as Samsung Galaxy S22 and above, Galaxy A54 and above, and Pixel 7 and above. Digital Extremes has indicated they will expand the compatible devices list with subsequent invitation waves, prioritizing devices based on registration data from interested players.
Controller support will be available for the Android version, with compatibility for Bluetooth wireless gamepads including DualSense and Xbox Wireless Controllers, as well as USB peripherals like Razer Kishi and Backbone.
Beta Features and Limitations
Participants in the Android Closed Beta will have access to the complete Warframe experience but will start with fresh accounts regardless of their progress on other platforms. The beta version includes localization for 14 languages matching the standard game versions.
Current limitations during the closed beta phase include the absence of cross-platform play and cross-platform save functionality. Multiplayer will be restricted to other Android Closed Beta participants, and players may encounter performance variations depending on their device specifications. Voice chat functionality will also be unavailable during the testing period.
The developers have confirmed that both cross-platform play and cross-platform save features will be implemented upon the global Android launch following the beta testing phase.
