Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity Expansion Goes Live
ArenaNet has launched Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, the latest expansion for the popular MMORPG Guild Wars 2. The expansion became available at 9:00 AM Pacific Time, introducing players to new content and features that will shape the game through 2026.
The expansion represents a significant addition to the Guild Wars 2 universe, featuring new elite specializations that allow players to customize their characters with fresh combat abilities. A new skimmer mount capability enhances underwater exploration, while the homestead system receives a magical island map and layout tools for decoration management.

Players can immediately access two new open-world zones in the Castora region, where they will pursue the Inquest faction through an unfolding narrative. The expansion also introduces graphical improvements to shadow rendering and adds ten new hairstyle options across all playable races.
The development team has structured Visions of Eternity as a four-part release schedule, with quarterly updates planned through 2026. The next major update, scheduled for early next year, will merge raids and Strike Missions into a unified system while introducing fashion templates for quick equipment changes between combat encounters.
New legendary equipment includes the Selachimorpha aquabreather and the Aetheric Anchor weapon, which transforms between spear and staff forms. The Wizard's Vault has been refreshed with new rewards, and players can earn additional items through Twitch Drops available until November 2.
The expansion launch coincides with several in-game festivals and bonus events throughout the coming months. Players can track these activities through the official event calendar while exploring the new Castoran wilderness and challenging the Inquest's latest schemes.
