Blizzard Entertainment has launched the Early Access period for World of Warcraft: Midnight, the next major expansion in the Worldsoul Saga. Players who pre-purchased the expansion can now begin their journey, which raises the level cap to 90 and introduces a dire new threat to Azeroth. The narrative centers on Xal'atath, the Harbinger, whose Void invasion has struck at the heart of the blood elf homeland in Eversong Woods.
This initial phase grants access to a substantial portion of the expansion's content. Adventurers can explore all four of the new and reimagined zones: the revitalized Eversong Woods, the ancient troll kingdom of Zul'Aman, the fungal jungles of Harandar, and the hostile Voidstorm. The leveling campaign offers a non-linear path, allowing players to choose their order of progression through Zul'Aman, Harandar, or a personal questline following Arator, son of the legendary Windrunners.

A core feature of the Midnight expansion is the introduction of player housing. This system allows players to build, decorate, and personalize a home within Azeroth, joining neighborhoods and undertaking endeavors. Early Access includes the ability to purchase a first home and begin designing with a starter decor collection. The full housing experience will be available at the worldwide launch.
Another significant addition is the Haranir, a new allied race that players can befriend and unlock. These mysterious beings can join either the Horde or Alliance and choose from a wide array of classes. Unlocking them requires completing the Harandar zone campaign, a task that will become available after the weekly reset leading into the full launch.
The expansion also overhauls Silvermoon City, which now serves as a fortified hub for both Horde and Alliance forces. The city has been rebuilt, with soaring crimson and gold towers offering new vistas. Approximately one-third of the city is reserved for the Horde, with the rest accessible to both factions as they unite against the Void threat.
For group content, Early Access includes eight new dungeons on Normal and Heroic difficulties. These are Windrunner Spire, Murder Row, Maisara Caverns, The Blinding Vale, Den of Nalorakk, Magisters' Terrace, Nexus-Point Xenas, and Voidscar Arena. A unique dungeon unlock system ties them to the leveling storyline, though all become accessible at the new level 90 cap. The first ten tiers of the new Delves system are also available, featuring a new NPC companion, the legendary rogue Valeera Sanguinar.
Several major features are scheduled to go live with the weekly reset on March 3, leading into the global launch on March 4. These include the aforementioned Haranir unlock quests, Profession Weekly Quests, the Arcantina social hub with visitor quests, and the new Hard difficulty for outdoor content. Mythic 0 dungeons will also enter a preseason phase with a weekly lockout.
The first official season of Midnight is set to begin on March 17. This will mark the start of Season 1 for dungeons and player versus player activities, and will open the first two of three new raids: Voidspire and Dreamrift. A third raid, March on Quel'Danas, will follow shortly after. The season will also introduce a new 40 versus 40 battleground called Slayer's Rise, set within the Voidstorm zone.
Substantial system-wide updates accompany the new content. A new Prey system allows players to track and hunt powerful targets across the zones for rewards. The user interface receives major improvements to customization, raid frames, and display scaling, reducing reliance on add-ons. Transmogrification is enhanced with the ability to save and quickly swap between dozens of full outfit sets.
Class design sees a significant update across the board, with rebuilt talent trees aimed at stronger class identity and more defined playstyles. A new third specialization for Demon Hunters, called Devourer, utilizes Void magic and is available alongside a new Hero Talent tree, Annihilator. Void Elves can also become Demon Hunters through a new questline.
For new and returning players, the expansion updates both the New Player Experience in Exile's Reach and introduces a focused Returning Player Experience to help veterans get back into action. A new Journeys tab in the Adventure Guide will provide updated progress tracking.
Players can still pre-purchase the expansion to gain immediate Early Access. The Epic Edition includes beta access, three days of Early Access, the Voidlight Surger mount, unique transmog sets, pets, housing decor, and Trader's Tender. The Heroic and Base Editions offer progressively fewer bonuses but all include early access to the housing feature and an Enhanced Level 80 Character Boost to prepare for the journey into Quel'Thalas. The full World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion launches worldwide on March 4.
